Hey folks, just working on a ICD serial adaptor for a fellow Atarian down here
in Dallas (and other member of JYBOLAC).  We managed to get a switch repaired.
Just curious if someone could tell me if this needs a special software handler?

Of course write it here too, but it is a little test.  I am currently logged

The Commodore monitors work great with the Atari.  I have a Commodore
1802. I use it for Atari,Nintendo, and watching movies(VCR).  I know its
not a big screen but, it does the job when all the other TVs(3) in the
house are in use.  I bought it at the Goodwill with the cable for
$9.99.  And its been going for about 3years now.

Thank you guys for your attentiveness! *blush*
I appreciate the help. I'll see if I can grab a monitor this coming
weekend.

I guesse there is the semitangible sense that soon the opportunity to
get a piece of electronic nostalgia is gradually slipping away, growing
surer each day. Someday, sooner than comfortable, it will all but
dissappear. :c  Anyone stocking up on items, left unused until the
become necessary or not used at all? How freqeuntly DO you use your
computer? Daily, or just when one needs a nostalgia fix? Sorry there I
go asking more questions!

Ah, yes.  Chris Crawford.  Every time I play "Excalibur" and I see "Sir
Drofwarc" in my command, I'm reminded...  :)

I would like to shop for a monitor for my Atari 800XL (which has a 5-pin
monitor plug in the back).  I'd like to know what I need to look for;
I'm sure not just any monitor will do.  I saw an earlier thread that
mentioned a lot of specific names, which is helpful.  But I'd also like
to know, in a more abstract sense, what I need?  What features do I
need, and more importantly, what features might not be compatible?  Does
it *have* to be a composite monitor?  I'm not very monitor-savvy, so
please forgive the silly questions.  If someone could propose a
checklist of sorts, I'd be most grateful.  Thanks,

Mike

Mike,
Hi there, I saw that you said you had a working 1450 XL motherboard.  I know of
someone else (Ed Williams) who actually had an unpopulated 1400XL motherboard.
As far as daughterboards, good question.  You might want to see if Curt Vendel
(Atari Computer museum) has any leads.
:
Would be nice to see another 1450 XL in action.  How are you doing on the
casing?

So the XE carts require the extra memory. It is not that they are XE
carts really but more that they are 64K carts, I take it.

I'll concur...

I registered APE and it's been a neat product. I, too, built the
cables myself.
