True, very much like using an APE cable to load up Disk images. <grin>

Right. That's why I said "If what you really want...".
I'm not sure what Tony really wants.

Having an Atari 8-bit doing TC/IP over PPP would be
a lot of work, but a great accomplishment. Having
the bragging rights would be nice too.

One of my points was that having a second machine,
with a known good TCP/IP stack and tools, and a
working implementation of PPP, would be a big help
in developing the Atari PPP app.

It would be cheaper than going through an ISP, and
you'd be able to see what is going on at both ends
of the PPP link.

And you wouldn't have to worry about the ISP shutting
down your account when they see funny stuff going out
on your connection.

Anyway, if Tony (or anyone else) is interested, I
can give them more info via email, so this thread
doesn't drag on any longer.

Best regards,

Phil

Can somebody e-mail the disks as .ATR image and send a scanned copy of this,
or does somebody has this for sale?

Was the diag. disk very useful?  If there's an image of it, could it be
made available to everyone?

Hello,

Could someone send me a copy of DOS 2.0 and/or DOS 2.5 for my
ATARI 800 XL?  Are there any web sites where they can be downloaded
from?

Thank you for answering my email.

Do you need the actual disks or the raw files. I have 2.5 and MyDos. I
could upload the raw files to you if you wish. Let me know...

2.0, 2.5, MyDOS and some versions of Sparta are out there; I will have to check
my bookmarks on another system.

My trusty and longlived 800XL suddenly cratered; how do I isolate Pokey
problems from real keyboard malfunction?

It totally fails the Keyboard self test, but passes the memory and audoi/video.
Only the Option, Select, Start and Reset respond; but not Help.

It boots into Basic and behaves like the Return key is stuck; the cursor
scrolls off the bottom of the screen accompanied by the key clicks.

It boots into SpartaX, reads autoexec.bat and starts the new time input and
freezes there.

Disconnect the keyboard and see if it still behaves that way.  If it
does, it's the Pokey, or possibly a short on the main board.
