30 Atari games for PC?  If these are really Atari PC games, then they are
commercial Hasbro or Infogrames programs.  I don't think your problem is XP
or 2000, the disk must be bad, a bad copy.  Try reading it on someone else's
computer, with Win ME or 98SE.  Could be your CD is flaky.

I've often debated this with people as I am in the IT field.  I have NEVER
NEVER EVER seen a 'bad' cd from a commercial press.  I've seen bad cd burns,
but not pressed copies.  I have, however, had problem with certain types of
cd-rom drives.  Not saying it isn't possible, but that has been my
experience.

An interesting auction item:

0&rd=1
Wow!  It's a big one!  Will be interesting to see if anyone wants it badly
enough to ante up.  But this is the only 815 I've ever seen on eBay.

(picking jaw up off floor)

I'm soooo tempted by that.  Does anyone know if hes accurate about it being a
prototype?  Where some actually sold?

I think it's pretty greedy to sell the manual seperately.  I mean, for that
asking price it should be inclusive, IMO.

I saw the drive long ago at a friends house, so it was released to the
public at some point.

The $600 asking price is frigging ridiculous.  It's not that
rare/special/valuable, etc.   Probably explains why there are 0 bids
on it.

I remember seeing at least one at a local computer store in
Connecticut circa 80-82  (exact year a bit fuzzy).  They were released
to the public and they were expensive.  I believe there were at least
one third party dual drive as well.
