It should be right.   When I connect to your bbs from my PC, I don't use a
UDS 10 at all.   It's a straight TCP connection.  :-)

If you want I can log on and test it.

Not sure if it does the autonegotiation or not.

Well, from some of the other replies I got, it *should*.

If I ever get it working, I'll contact you and let you
test it with me. Thanks!

I don't run a SAMBA server, so I have no experience with that at all.  I've
pretty much gone entirely Linux at home, so I just use NFS for fileshares.
I do have an old Mac running OS 9, and I've been using ftp to move files
between the Mac and my Linux boxes.  Not exactly the best solution, but it
works.  And, with the small amount of files that I actually move between
the Mac and the Linux machines, it's more than adequate.

Anyway, I wish you great success with Linux.   I believe that Linux will
offer you a much more stable and dependable server.  :-)

Ive been revisting my fav 8bit games on my new 20" imac screen with
Atari800 emulator.   Wow
what a trip to play Donkey Kong, Dark Chambers, Zybex, Quasimodo,
Shamus, etc with this
beautiful monitor but for the life of me the graphics look worse then I
remember!!!   I rem Ms Pac
Man looking alot closer to the arcade then it does thru this emulator?
 Is the LCD and improved
resolution bringing out the blockiness?   Did the old tv's just blur
the gfx enuff to make them look
better?    Is it my imagination?   Did anyone else notice this?

Amazingly the 2600 games Ive tried with Stella seem to look how I rem
them (minus the scanlines)
on the old VCS...   I just dont get it.

I know I know, nothing is gonna be as authentic as the real thing, but
I just dont have the space to
have every system I owned over the years and the money to track down
all my fav games...

The reason is that the natural resolution of a TV is much lower than the
natural resolution of a PC monitor, especially a flat screen. Which
means that the graphics for the monitor has to be scaled up to get a
reasonably large image. This makes edges visible that are otherwise
hidden by the poor technical performance of a TV. Several emulators, for
example my Atari++ include a "deblocking filter" that try to minimize
this effect and to generate an image that is closer to the original
without appearing to blurry.

So long,
        Thomas

Yep.  I always notice it with emulators, for example.  ESPECIALLY on LCD
monitors.

If anyone here has any 8-bit cartridges to spare (sell, trade, whatever), I
wouldn't mind seeing a list of what you have available.  I'm looking to
fill some of the gaps in my stash, so feel free to drop me a line and
include anything you might be looking for in trade.  Instructions are good
but not necessary, and I'm reallly not interested in boxes at all - just
carts I don't have that are in good shape.

Reverse each portion of my email address to reach me.

thanks!

I don't believe I have any cartridges left, other than a few very common
ones.   However, I think I have some old Atari software documentation
kicking around.   I would imagine that they're all probably in pretty rough
shape, but if anybody is looking for stuff to scan or photocopy, I guess
they'd be good enough for that.
